Hello, and thank you for your interest in BBDT!
For those new to ballroom:
This is such an exciting time for you! Starting an adventure in ballroom can be a magical journey that can lead to not only learning cool dance moves, but also friendships, fun stories from competitions, and personal development in confidence, posture, fitness, and yes, even your brain! We’re super excited that you’re interested in starting your voyage with us. All of our current members could tell you the story of how they were in your shoes once upon a time, and how they took the leap, tried something new, and never looked back. :)

Our beginner classes really are for newbies:
  • We assume no previous dance experience (we start our lessons with the basics)!
  • No special shoes required (socks are fine)!
  • No partner required (we rotate throughout class)!

For those with ballroom experience:
Badger Ballroom is the place in Madison for those looking to improve their skills at a rapid pace. Our professional coaches are top-notch -- some have them have even competed in the world championships! Our skill levels range all the way from Newcomer/Bronze to Pre-Champ/Champ. We have several dancers currently looking for competition partners for next semester - maybe that could be you! We’re excited to welcome you into our ranks!

Eligibility:
  • Must be a part of one of the following 3 groups:
    • Student at UW-Madison
    • Staff or Faculty at UW-Madison (BBDT reserves the right to limit these members to retain identity as a student organization)
    • General Madison Community Members (BBDT reserves the right to limit these members to retain identity as a student organization)
  • Pay membership dues
  • Submit a membership form
